Choosing Cancer Centre London

When it comes to your health, you deserve the best. At Cancer Centre London, we understand that when you visit us you may be going through a very difficult time, and that you’ll want to deal with this in your own way. Our job is to provide help, support and advise through each stage of your treatment. Located opposite the beautiful Wimbledon Common, we offer tranquil surroundings and a relaxed, caring environment in which you can undergo treatment with as little added anxiety as possible.

Our caring and professional specialists are here to help you with any health concerns, answer questions you may have about a recent diagnosis, and develop a tailor-made treatment plan. The consultants who work at Cancer Centre London, and the surgeons at Parkside Hospital, are leaders in their chosen fields, with many of our professors, consultants and surgeons receiving honours and awards for their outstanding work in medicine, and all holding top level positions within NHS teaching hospitals in London. These high professional standards reach into every aspect of service at CCL, ensuring that each patient receives the best care possible.

What treatments do we offer?

Every patient is different. With this in mind, the treatment and care that you will receive at Cancer Centre London will be tailored to you. Your journey will begin with an introduction to your dedicated specialist consultant and care team – they will look after you from day one. At CCL we treat patients using a Multi-Disciplinary Team, which is a group of specialists in different fields who work together using their particular set of skills to establish a personalised treatment plan suited to your individual medical and personal needs.

Some patients needing to undergo surgery as part of their cancer treatment will have their operation at the nearby Parkside Hospital, in partnership with CCL, and other patients come to the centre for further treatment after their surgery is complete. Cancer Centre London offers both chemotherapy and radiotherapy on an outpatient basis, in a friendly, laid-back environment staffed by professionals. If an inpatient stay is required at any point during your treatment, you will be looked after in the dedicated oncology ward at Parkside Hospital.

What support do we offer?

At CCL we provide support that caters to both the physical and emotional needs of the patient, before, during and after treatment. We offer a wide range of services for patients, as well as their loved ones, designed to make a very difficult time as easy as possible, and to give our patients the best treatment and support possible. Complementary therapies such as aromatherapy, massage and reflexology are on offer to all our patients, as well as a wide variety of other services designed to help you adjust to the changes in your life, such as counselling, physiotherapy, and diet and nutritional advice.

We understand that cancer doesn’t just leave a physical impact on an individual, it can have a huge emotional effect as well. Cancer and its treatment can be overwhelming, causing a wide variety of emotions, and it is important to remember that there is no right or wrong response. Reactions vary hugely from person to person, and most people find that it becomes easier to cope when they’re given additional support, so that’s what we do.

Our Information Centre, staffed by our Information Officer, is here to offer help, advice and support to you and your family before, during and after your treatment. This room is a wealth of information, not only because it houses a huge variety of leaflets published by leading cancer charities for you to read and take away. To complement this service, we also run a range of meetings, lectures and group activities to help cancer patients and their families and friends adjust to their situation.
