Look Good, Feel Better

Look Good Feel Better is a charity run by the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Perfumery Association which aims to support women with cancer by helping them to feel good about their appearance, which can be dramatically changed by cancer treatment.

At Cancer Centre London, we are incredibly lucky to be able to offer one two-hour Look Good Feel Better (LGFB) session every month. These sessions are run by trained beauty consultants who volunteer their time, skills and expertise to give women undergoing cancer treatment a little pampering and TLC.

LGFB sessions cover two hours of confidence boosting skincare and makeup tips such as how to draw eyebrows back if these have been lost or how to look after your skin if you have experienced any changes as a result of treatment.  These sessions are in groups, and women who attend enjoy not only the advice on how to deal with any visible changes to their appearance and a lovely gift bag which is used throughout the session and taken home after,  but also have the chance to share experiences with other women going through a similar journey in a safe, friendly and light-hearted atmosphere.  LGFB also provide additional support on nail care, wig and scarf advice via their “Confidence Kit” self-help DVD & booklet and online tutorials.
